Who we are

Saint Monica’s Players (SMP) was established in 1958. We produce a pantomime every January, a musical production in June & plays throughout the year. We try to produce different or challenging productions.

Past SMP members who have gone on to enjoy more success include the late BBC reporter Brian Hanrahan, famed for his coverage of the Falklands war & Jo Collins OBE, co-founder of Chicken Shed.

More recently other members have found success. Julian Perretta has toured across Europe; Jamie Nichols featured in ‘Gutted’, ‘Houdini’ Holby City & Eastenders; David O’Mahony has performed in ‘The Bodyguard’ & ‘Beautiful’; Joe Davies has performed in ‘Hangmen’ & ‘Junkyard’. Lauren Campbell is a regular dancer on Strictly, Jack Frimston’s band, The Tailormade have supported acts from Olly Murs to Madness. To keep up to date with us please like our SMP Facebook page.
